Ms. Prema Alexander, State First...

Ms. Prema Alexander of our parish has won the First Prize in the Logos Quizz (Bible) for Seniors in the All Kerala Contest held by the POC at Cochin. This she accomplished in spite of her broken hands and inconveniences and pain she underwent in the past so many days. We do appreciate this great feat and pray that she grow to greater heights. God bless her.

Power leaves none self-contended...

Even in a small parish like ours, people make use of this small home like system a tool for their greed for power and position. Some come openly for this, while others covertly play all known tricks to get to the top! In between there is the interplay, rather undercurrent of 'caste' factors. One can understand, if it threatens someone's security feelings, as it is always a sense of insecurity which makes people defensive which naturally slips into offensive at the slightest provocation. It is when they feel threatened as someone traspasses their boundary, their security zones!

അടിസ്ഥാന ക്രൈസ്തവ സമൂഹ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ്...

ഇന്ന് ഒന്ന്, അഞ്ചു, ആറ് എന്നീ കുടുമ്പ യൂണിറ്റുകളില്‍ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നടന്നു. രാവിലെ ഇടവക കൌണ്‍സിലിന്റെ യോഗം നടന്നു.

ഇന്ന് മൂന്നും നാലും യൂനിട്രുകളുടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പായിരുന്നു. രണ്ടാം യൂനിതൃന്ട്രേതു കഴിഞ്ഞ ആഴ്ചയില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. ഉച്ച്ചിക്ക് ശേഷം യുവജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ പി എസ സി മത്സര പരീക്സൈക്ക് ഒരുക്കുന്നു ക്ലാസ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

All Saints Day and 'Kerala Piravi' Day...

Solemnity of All Saints' Day. Sisters had Mass in their chapel by Fr. Justin Prabhu, S. J.

A New Venture by Mr. Augustine, one of our parishners!

Mr. Augustine, one of our parishners, started a new venture of a restaurent, "Athens" at the 'Muttakkada Road' between the Aristo Jn and New Theatre Jn, Thiruvananthapuram. Many parishners, besides others, participated in the function along with Fr. Justin Prabhu, S.J.

பணி.ஜஸ்டின் பிரபு சே.ச.வுக்கு வரவேற்பு...

திரு. யேசுராஜனின் மைத்துனர் ஜஸ்டின் பிரபு அவர்கள் 'திருநிலை'ப்படுத்தப்பட்டபிறகு எமது பங்கில் ஒரு வரவேற்பு ஏற்பாடு செய்தோம். தொடர்ந்து அவர் திருப்பலி நிறைவேற்றினார். பிறகு மிக எளிமையான ஒரு பாராட்டு கூட்டமும் நடத்தி சிறு, சிறு பரிசுகளும் வழங்கினார்கள்.

கத்தோலிக்க கம்மாளர் சமுதாயத்திலிருந்து அரிதாக வரும் ஒரு திருநிலைப்படுத்தல் இது. அடிப்படை தமிழர்களான இவர்கள் உயர இத்தகைய நிலைகள் பயன்பட்டால் நல்லது. இன்னும் இயன்ற அனைத்து துறைகளிலும் இவர்கள் செல்லவேண்டும்.

ஈடுபாடில்லாமல்...

அழகான, அருமையான, சின்னஞ்சிறு பங்கென்றபோதும் முழுமனதுடன் ஈடுபட முடியாமல் தவிக்கிறேன். ஓன்று, போதுமான நேரம் இல்லை. இரண்டு, சில நபர்கள் வெறுப்பூட்டும் அளவுக்கு பேசி உற்சாகத்தை கெடுத்துவிடுகிறார்கள். மூன்று, மறை மாவட்ட பணிப்பழு. நான்கு, போதுமான விசுவாசம் இல்லாதது!

எப்படியோ, ஒரு வகையாக பங்கு பணி நடக்கிறது! ஏழை மக்கள், நல்ல வேலை இல்லாதவர்கள், சொந்தமாக வீடு இல்லாதவர்கள், புலம் பெயர்ந்தவர்கள், எப்படியோ வாழ்கிறார்கள்! யார் இவர்களுக்கு ஒரு விடியலை காட்டப்போகிறார்கள்? கடவுள்களுக்கு காணிக்கைபோடும் இந்த ஏழைகளுக்கு கஞ்சி ஊத்த யார்? (தொடரும்... தொடரவேண்டும்...)

Parish business...

After the Mass Mr. Jesudasan, along with his son, came to arrange for the baptism of his daughter's child. I asked him to bring the parents, especially when the father of the child is a Hindu and i haven't seen them yet! He wanted that to take place on 26th and to be ministered by a priest of his relation. Somehow he wanted for that day alone and for which he expected me to give in which i was not ready to do. I didn't entertain any further talk and went away...

Sasi from Pallithura came to collect the list of names of the teachers and their children to come with Sr. Telma for visiting VSSC, especially the Space Museum. And he took me to the house of Mr. Velayudam, the Dy. Director of VSSC in his house just one house down our church. His wife, Ms. Nalini too was there. Gave me a cup of tea and were very good. He told that he used to listen to the homily in our church!

Catechism teachers' meeting. Spoke on authenticity. They were commenting on my homily and appreciated me. Rajeesh was not feeling well. Bro. Antony's family people are arriving Trivandrum for a site seeing and so he left little early.

Evening Mass. Homily was little lengthy now. A Tamil family from Malayam came to speak about the rectification of their marriage as both of them were widows. And also asking for the First Communion of the children of the husband. They were so happy when i talked Tamil.

Yesurajan's father-in-law came to invite me for the Ordination and First Mass of his son, a Jesuit. it is on Saturday, 9th October and First Mass on Sunday, 10th.

Mrs. George came to inform of her son's illness. She was crying as the boy was not in a good condition.

Perpetual Adoration

August 22nd is seemingly the perpetual day adoration. But that day happened to be a Sunday and the Catechism children have already announced their Onam celebrations for that day and no announcement regarding the Adoration was not made, it was agreed upon to postpone it for the following Friday.

The children had their 'pookalam' competition. 'Pookalam' has denegrated into a coloured salt show these days! And our children also resorted to this poor show to save some money buying real flowers! Besides the arranged snacks, i asked the teachers to prepare 'payasam' for them.
However, i could not attend the celebration, as i had to go for the house warming of Bergu's house at Kochuthura.

The Adoration was opened by Fr. Tony after the usual Friday evening Mass. And i reached by 9 p.m to close it!

Feast Donations for Liturgy

Some 13400/- or so was seemingly collected! This seems to be greater than the last year.

6th day of the Patroness' Feast...

It is sixth day of our Patroness' Feast and the 6th Family Unit, Christ the King, was leading the liturgy. The celebrant being Fr. Antony from Carmel Hill Monastry, he preferred to have the Mass in Syrian rite and i consented, as it was a late invitation and the already agreed upon priest, Fr. Rockose was not available.

Hence, he brought his seminarians to sing the Mass and two of our sisters, Hema and Divya joined them. Though Fr. Tony Lazar came, he preferred to hear confessions and left during the Mass. Fr. Antony only preached and i joined him concelebrating.

A father from Thuckalay came to offer Mass of his daughter's marriage which seemingly is scheduled in a forthcoming day at Coimbatore. What a concern of a father!

தைக்காடு பரலோக மாதா பங்கின் ப்ளாக் இன்று ஆரம்பமாகின்றது. ஆண்டு விழ மிக விமரிசையாக நடக்கும் இவ்வேளையில் இப்படி ஒரு ப்ளாக் சிந்தனை வந்ததே நல்லது. இது தொடரவேண்டும், பிறர் எழுதவேண்டும், படிக்க வேண்டும், தமிழ் சிறக்கவேண்டும், அன்பு பெருகவேண்டும், மனிதம் உயரவேண்டும்.
